4TH JKR BIM DAY
About the Program
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM) is one of the element of the digital construction industry in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. BIM is used to increase the level of productivity and effectiveness of the project delivery system. Since the introduction of BIM in Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Malaysia in 2007, the usage of BIM has been implemented widely across all disciplines. They were effectively implemented into several government projects in the 10th, 11th, and 12th of Malaysia Plans.
This year, Cawangan Perancangan Aset Bersepadu (CPAB) in collaboration with Pertubuhan Profesional JKR Malaysia (ProJKRM) shall hold the 4th JKR BIM Day 2021. The pandemic has brought us to a whole new normalisation this year where the 4th JKR BIM Day 2021 will be set to run virtually on 26 & 27 October 2021. This program is one of the JKR’s efforts to provide continuous exposure to its staff, customers, consultants, contractors, academics, and various stakeholders on the development and the implementation of BIM in Malaysia particularly in public construction projects. This shall serve as well, to provide an understanding of the importance and benefits of using BIM throughout construction project life cycle
Through this program, an increase level of awareness and readiness on the usage of BIM among stakeholders and players in the construction industry shall result in a satisfactory outcome for all. The 4th JKR BIM Day 2021 will form more holistic cooperation between government, private, and academia in strengthening and expanding the implementation of BIM in construction projects.
